NetPartner is a leading affiliate network! 5 Reasons Why Internet Marketers Fail

please find before you ask

An internet business is not fool proof. Just because you create a website does not mean that it will ever make you money. In fact, everyday many people fail to earn money online and this is due to a variety of reasons. Some of the most common are that people do not have any type of plan or have a plan and refuse to work it. Working only when one feels like it, giving up easily and not tracking one’s marketing and advertising efforts are other ways to increase the likelihood that a person will fail online.

Here are 5 reasons why Internet marketers fail:

a. They Don’t Have a Plan: Many of the same actions that are required to be a success offline apply to the online business world as well. Just as it is important to have a marketing and business plan for a brick and mortar business, the same is true for an internet marketing business. You need to have a plan. It will keep you focused and provide direction for your efforts. If you do not have a plan and have no idea what you are going to be doing from day to day, then you will likely be in trouble.

b. They Don’t Work That Plan: It is one thing to have a plan. It is another thing to take action. If you are a planner and not a doer, then you will fail. It is very easy and even quite fun to come up with plans. However, if you never give them any feet, then you are wasting your time and brain power. Instead, commit to putting your plan into action everyday. Don’t let fear or laziness curtail your dreams. You will regret it later on.

c. They Work Only When They Feel Like It: There is some dirty myth that if you work online, you can work whenever you want to and can skip out on working whenever you don’t feel like it. While this is true, it doesn’t mean that you will make money if you run your business this way. The same holds true offline. Sure, you can go to work when you want and play hookie if you feel like it but the result will likely be the loss of your job and income. This true even if you work online. You don’t have to work, but in most cases you won’t make any money.

d. They Give Up Easily: The business world is not for quitters. I believe many people give up on their internet businesses so easily because they underestimate the amount of work that will be required. They fall for the “make $100,000 in 6 months, working only 30 minutes a day” advertisements. These are obviously a bunch of bunk but people don’t find that out until after they have tried and failed with these systems. If people had realistic expectations, they might be willing to hang in there a little longer.

e. They Don’t Track Their Advertising: Not tracking your advertising is one of the biggest mistakes that you can make. If you have no idea where your sales are coming from, you will be unable to ramp up advertising at those places that are making you money and will continue to waste money on unprofitable campaigns. To avoid this, be sure to track all of your web pages and ads. You will be so thankful that you did.

Why An Online Business Is One Of The Easiest To Start

Many people have entrepreneurial leanings but don’t have the money to pursue their dreams in the traditional business world. Because there are so many costs associated with starting a business, it is often difficult to get started. Today, with the advent and extreme popularity of the internet for buying and selling goods, the opportunities are plentiful for persons looking to start a business online. An internet business is one of the easiest to start because the barriers to entry are low, the initial costs are affordable for most people, advertising costs can be controlled and it is easy to reach millions of people from all over the world. We’ll discuss these reasons in more depth below.

a. Barriers To Entry Are Low: The barriers to starting an online business are pretty low. If you can create a free blog at and sign up as an affiliate at a company like Clickbank, you can instantly be in business. Because there are so many free and inexpensive ways to advertise, it doesn’t cost a fortune to get started.

b. Inexpensive to Start: An online business can be very inexpensive to start. You can start completely free as mentioned above or you can make some small investments and purchase a domain name, hosting and advertising at some of the more popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN. It costs varying amounts to open up an account. The fee is $5 at Google and around $25-$50 at other companies. You will then pay based on the number of people that click on your advertisement.

c. Advertising Costs Can Be Controlled: Advertising costs can be controlled because there are a number of inexpensive and free ways to market ones product. Social networking web sites, free classified ads and article marketing are all effective ways to advertise ones own or affiliate product with out spending a ton of money.

d. It Is Easy to Reach Millions of People: One of the best things about having an online business is that the internet has given people the business owners the opportunity to reach people from around the globe. The cost to do this offline would be astronomical. However, it can be done fairly inexpensively online.

Today, more and more people are starting online businesses. There is a lot of money to be made and these kinds of ventures can be stared easily and inexpensively. This is not to imply that it will easy to make money. If it was, everyone would be doing it. No, there are winners and losers in the internet business world. Not everyone succeeds. However, if an individual has a good strategy, works hard and sticks to their plan, they have a good chance of making it. It is important for individuals to do their research and to follow proven business models when first getting started. This will give them the best shot at success.

Making Money in a Down Economy

Guest Post by Shawn Horwood

Unless you are a hermit or you are completely oblivious, you probably know that right now the economy in North America is absolutely TERRIBLE. People are losing jobs like crazy, the biggest automobile manufacturers are going into the tank, JC Penny and Starbucks are closing stores all over North America, the governments of Canada and the United States are going insane trying to figure out how to get our countries through these times of economic crisis, and people are wondering how on earth they are going to support their families and pay the bills. I have heard many people commenting on the fact that right now is the worst time to try to start a business and that if you try right now you will definitely fail.

I would like to tell you that if you have heard people say that, then please do not listen to them in regards to making money because they are dead wrong. Right now is one of the BEST times to try to start an online business.

Now please, hear me out, continue reading. Yes, I am serious and no, I am not insane. If you think I am, then go ahead and stop reading this and find your own way to make it through these tough economic times.
But if you want to know how you can survive these hard economic times and maybe even start making more money than you have ever made before, then please, hear me out.

First of all, the economy is in the tank. I will admit that. But that doesn't mean people are going to stop spending money. People are going to be trying to find any way possible to save money and to try to make extra money. If you take advantage of this, you will be able to profit hugely, even though most of the continent is going to be spending all their time trying to figure out how they are going to make enough money to pay the minimum payments on their bills.

So how do you take advantage of this? Well, you can create your own product, or you can promote products as an affiliate. What kind of products? "How to" products. When the economy is down, everyone will be looking for ways to make money and save money. If you promote or create products on "How to Make Money Online", think of how many people would love to buy your products! Everyone will be looking for ways to make money and they will be willing to pay for it. Even the hope of making enough money to get them through these difficult times will be enough for them to purchase your products or the products you have chosen to promote. You can also promote products on things like home repair, car repairs, do it yourself guides, and things like that. People will be trying to learn how to do things on their own, because they can not afford to pay professionals to do it. Your market is potentially millions of people.

Most of the country will be searching for these products and they will be willing to pay for them!

Another great example of a product you can create or promote is one that deals with saving money on taxes, or obtaining government loans, or getting more money from their insurance claims, or getting more credit, or other products related to these things. Many people will be searching for these products. one of the biggest things to know about people is that people purchase what they want, not what they need.

They need their money to pay their bills, but they want to learn to save money and to earn money, so they will gladly pay you for access to information that will save them money.

If you take advantage of this, you will be able to profit in a down economy. If you know a lot about repairing cars, put the information you know into an ebook and sell it! If you know how to save money on taxes, put it in an ebook! Millions of people are ready and willing to purchase these products, all you need to do is offer them access and they will come to you with credit cards in hand! If you do not have any specialized knowledge relating to any of the above, then go to Clickbank marketplace and find a product someone else has created and promote it for commissions. If you don't know how to tell which Clickbank products, I have written a separate article about choosing a profitable Clickbank product. You can see it here: Clickbank will pay you every two weeks.

Can you imagine being financially secure while 98% of the population is scrambling around trying to find ways to make the minimum payments on their bills?

You can make money in a down economy. You can support your family and be financially secure while most people are struggling to pay their bills. Now, if you are successful in this time of economic crisis, please give back and put money back into the economy. Make the commitment to put 10% of your earnings back into the economy. It will help the other people who are struggling, and you will be rewarded.

Video Tutorial: Turn Google Traffic into Affiliate Commission

Here is a cool video series I though you might want to watch, it contains solid content and practical tips about making money with affiliate marketing in the niches that aren't related to Internet marketing:

A lot of people will choose to market 'make money online e-books, online business courses and Internet marketing software tools when it comes to starting an affiliate marketing business. But one downside of promoting these digital products is that it takes a lot of works and patience. Visitors wouldn't buy on your first time product recommendation, you have to capture their emails so that you can keep following with them to make affiliate sales and commission.

But for niches other than Internet marketing and e-business, it is different. These are the niches that you can enter and market physical affiliate products to the visitors. You don't have to capture their email and follow up with them as the targeted visitors often like the physical product when they see it and will pay to get it.

So, if you can send Google traffic to the right niches, you probably will reap a lot of affiliate commission.

These video series is going to show you how to get traffic to the right niche and profit in the niche by marketing the right affiliate products.

Media lacks “thousands feared dead” headlines in Russian-Georgian “cyber-war”

I’ve got my prejudices and I admit it. Take Marcus Sachs for example: I openly disliked the man when he started working for White House cyberspace flunky Richard Clarke during the “taint era” from 1998 until Clarke’s unceremonious departure.

But the director of the SANS Internet Storm Center has finally won me over with a “very cynical” (his words) opinion on the supposed Russian-Georgian cyber-war. Good for him. I scratched Sachs off my prejudice list.

And speaking of the supposed Russian-Georgian cyber-war…

As Sachs noted, the computer press seems infatuated with a war that includes script kiddies and (ironically) the many “cyber tourists” who visited Georgian websites out of curiosity. Come, now — how can you call it a “war” when media coverage drives tourism through the roof?

This might lead you to wonder “what’s the difference between a physical war and a cyber war?” The answer is simple. In a physical war, a politician will shout “Christiane Amanpour’s plane landed at the airport, everyone flee for your lives!” But in a cyber war, a coworker will shout “John Markoff’s story just went online, everyone click on the links!”

Oddly: the computer pundits tell us only about Russia’s cyber-attacks on Georgia. To quote the legendary Bill Hicks: “a war is when two armies are fighting.” Why don’t we hear incredulousible stories about, who knows, maybe Georgia’s victorious counter-thrust into Russian IP space where they Google-bombed the .ru TLD, or something like that?

The non-computer press, on the other hand, seems far more interested in Russian bomber aircraft over the skies of Georgia. Those bombers recently made a “show of force” along two critical fuel pipelines:

The 45 craters — each some 60 feet across — scar the hillside like footprints left by a giant. Close by lies the BTC pipeline, operated by British oil company BP PLC and buried at a depth of nearly six feet… Another raid Tuesday appeared to have been aimed at a second pipeline, known as Baku-Supsa, which brings Azerbaijan oil from the Caspian Sea.

To hear the cyber-war experts say it, a logic bomb is equivalent to an aerial bomb. So, if Russia did launch a devastating cyber-war with Georgia, then why do they need bombers to demonstrate a show of force near Georgia’s fuel pipelines? To hear the cyber-war experts say it, Russia’s elite military hackers could log into the “SCADA” equipment that controls the pipelines and make it do whatever the Kremlin wants.

You’ll find all sorts of security hype about “SCADA,” the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition equipment that now automates every critical infrastructure on the planet — international fuel pipelines, continental electric power grids, federal air traffic control & landing systems, state highway toll booths, regional 911 services, county water treatment plants, city transit systems, and local traffic lights.

To hear the SCADA security experts say it, these devices even operate the dual-zone climate controls in your new car. That’s right: SCADA technology controls everything. Just ask the SCADA security experts.

SCADA technology is so insecure, claim the experts, that any college kid can destroy any power generator anywhere on Earth from the comfort of any dorm room or Starbucks café in less than two minutes.

Oh, and Russia secretly enlists every unethical college kid to serve in the Kremlin’s state-of-the-art military cyber squadron. Oh, and they can bring any country to its knees with their dastardly SCADA weapons. Just ask the cyber-war experts.

Toss in the bankrupt & corrupt history of Russia’s post-USSR military … and toss in the U.S. Air Force’s own belief that a logic bomb equals a Hellfire missile … and it only stands to reason that Russia would much rather launch SCADA attacks over bomber attacks.

Yet we see neither the amazing headline nor the amazing video of a Russian military SCADA attack. Go figure.

Did a story in the Wall Street Journal say “Thousands of Georgians feared dead in Russian military cyber attack”? NO. Did The Register announce “Russian army hackers make Georgian fuel pipelines flow backward”? NO. Did the U.S. Air Force website proclaim “Airmen deploy to Tbilisi to stop Russian military hackers”? NO.

Remember this the next time the computer media gets infatuated with the notion of a cyber-war.
